METHOD and PROCESSING

We analysed MOD06_L2 Terra MODIS cloud top temperatures for hole punch clouds that occurred near Moscow Domodedovo airport in Russia (55.408611 N 37.906111 E).
The pixels with multilayer clouds were screened out from the analysis.
Cloud top temperatures were averaged over a circle with a radius of 10 kilometres. The circle surrounded Moscow Domodedovo airport (55.408611 N 37.906111 E).
