Humanist Greek texts from and concerning Sweden

This Excel file includes information gathered during the project Helleno-Nordica. The Humanist Greek Heritage of the Swedish Empire, Swedish Research Council Project number 2016-01881 (PI Johanna Akujärvi, Lund University, 2017-01-01 - 2022-12-31; https://projekt.ht.lu.se/helleno-nordica/), concerning Humanist Greek texts from 16thÐ21st centuries by or connected to Swedes. 

The columns provide the following information:
A. Author of Humanist Greek text: normalized name as in national bibliographies or biographies, including dates of life (exact or with floruit, ante/post). Existing common name variants are separated with Ò/Ó. For anonymuses, the year of occasion or print are given as floruit. 
B. Author as in the Humanist Greek text: full name as in the print/manuscript, including given titles. 
C. Role of the author: author, translator, in case of dissertations, combined with the roles of praeses or respondens. 
D. Other author: if the Humanist Greek text is a dissertation or translation, the normalized name of the respondent (resp) or the author of the source text (auth). 
E. Incipit: first line of the Humanist Greek text, as in print but with normalized orthography (spirituses, accents and final sigmas, capitalization), unless it is significant. Misspellings and typos are indicated with Ò[!]Ó.
F. Heading of the Humanist Greek text: in normalized orthography.
G. Prosodic type: prose or poetry (type of verse form), from a list of prosodic types (drop-down list in the database). In Latin.
H. Length of text. For poetry and shorter prose texts: verse count (if metrical), line count for prose. For longer prose texts: count in pages, adding reference 'page(s)'. 
I. Formal patterns and devices: from a list of figurative features (drop-down list in the database).
J. Genre of the Humanist Greek text: in Latin from a list of genres (drop-down list in the database). If more than one genre, separated with /.
K. Occasion: the occasion for the Humanist Greek text from an expandable list of standard occasions in English. If more than one occasion, separated with /.
L. Date of occasion: exact date, if available, in the format Year/Month/Day. The dates in Greek are converted to modern usage, the Greek variants are given in column AD.
M. Text type: print, manuscript, epigraphy, internet source.
N. Addressee of the Humanist Greek text: the name of the explicit addressee, whether a named person, collectives or functions; when more than one person their names are separated with ;.
O. Short title in normalised orthography with link to electronic catalogue, if available, preferable to the electronic catalogue of the country where the text was printed or ms is preserved. 
P. Normalized name of the Author/Praeses/Editor/Deliverer of the print, especially if other than for the Humanist Greek text (column A). If the column is empty, it means that the author is same as for the Humanist Greek text. In the case of multi-authored collections, AAVV is used. 
Q. Respondens of the print, if the print is a dissertation. 
R. Year: the year as in print (manuscript) in arabic numerals. Estimated years are given in brackets [], unknown years marked with ?. If the print is dated with Greek numerals, chronogram or other devices, these will be explained in additional information (in column AD). 
S. Place of print/publication/writing: modern place name according to the practice of given country.
T. Place of print/publication/writing as written in the actual text. 
U. Printer/identifier with modern normalized name of printer. Years of life or activity are given if available from national bibliographies. 
V. Printer as in print. 
W. Print format. 
X. Location of the Humanist Greek text in print/volume, if available. 
Y. National bibliography number(s), if available. 
Z. Library, shelf mark & link to scan: for each identified imprint, library and shelf mark, if available, and link to scan, if available.
Abbreviations used: UL (university L), UCL (university college L), NL (national L); CA (city archive), CM (city museum), USL (university and state L); SL (state L); HA (Historical Archives); FLS (library of Finnish literary society); CAU (Central A of university); DRL (diocesan and regional L); LM (literary museum). 
AA. Additional information concerning reprints.
AB. Additional information concerning dedicatee of print. 
AC. Additional information concerning connected languages, in the case of macaronic texts or multilingual compositions.
AD. Other Additional information, e.g. dates or other information written in Greek, issues of the disputed authorship or dates. 
AE. Connected text (print/manuscript): an 'x' here indicates that the text is one of several Humanist Greek texts in the same print or manuscript whether by the same or different author(s); each HUG-text is recorded separately.
AF. Database entry/quotation: initials of the person who inserted the data. 
AG. Unique identifier of the text. In the case of the Swedish corpus, starting with HUG03.
AH. National Database, to which the entry belongs.
