*** Test Capture #18 (Test MSI capture of item with call number TÜR, F. 7, s. 33) in 16-band Multispectral Imaging for University of Tartu Library internal testing and validation *** Author: Aare Vesi Multispectral Imaging and Photography Laboratory, University of Tartu Library, Tartu Contact Information: Aare Vesi University of Tartu Library W. Struve 1 Tartu 50091 Estonia Additional contact information can be found on University of Tartu website . *** General Introduction *** The data included in this collection was captured from the following archived material: Call number: TÜR, F. 7, s. 33 Item short description: fragment. (f. 1) Sabb. sancto; (f. 2) Fer. IV–V infra Oct. Paschae Capture date and location: December 1st 2021, University of Tartu Library Multispectral Imaging and Photography Laboratory. Reason for capture: additional MSI system calibration and validation. Dataset contains captured and processed image data. Before the capture the MSI system is calibrated and validated. The capture focus, optical alignment, flat field compensation and exposure compensation have been applied to the processed files. The result files have been processed through Phase One Rainbow software, corrections have been applied and then converted to TIFF. Also a 16-band stack composite L3Harris ENVI file has been provided for direct loading into statistical analysis software. *** Purpose of the test captures *** The purpose of these test captures was to perform additional tests and functionality validation of the procured MSI system. And to provide a tangible MSI dataset that correlates to the physically available and locally verifiable records in the library. *** Capture equipment and software *** Camera: Phase One iXG 100MP Wide Spectrum Lens: Schneider Kreuznach RS 72 mm Narrowband LED Lights: Equipoise Imaging, Eurekalight 2001; two lights at either side of the captured object, placed at 45 degree angle Software: Phase One Rainbow MSI 2.2.0.16, L3Harris ENVI 5.6.1 See information about used LED wavelengths in "Description of the data" below. *** Rights *** These images are licensed for free use under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
